Food has been a fascinating thing to me from my childhood. I like to eat poori and chapathi but to be precise i ate each of them once in a month until my schooldays. All the three times we use to eat boiled rice with an exception on sundays and mondays where we eat idly and the remaining idly flour becomes dosa on mondays. Parota has been a very rare thing, may be once in two months. Since we have been a joint family which consisted of 15 members making breakfast has been a difficult job so we eat old rice that of yesterday.
I dont have much attraction to old rice but i have no option, i should have to eat coz my mom doesnt allows to go school empty stomach. So i will eat but always fighting with my mom. Here comes my dad or grandmom or granddad, whenever i complain they use to tell me the same old story which i hated to hear at that age and which i am into it now. Ah the old story states that they use to eat only ragi porridge or millet porridge or maize porridge thrice a day and boiled rice been a fantasy which will be seen during two days in a year and they are the festivals diwali and pongal.
I never ate maggi sort of noodles during my childhood which went on to became a habit of hating noodles. But after my school i went to college in chennai where my food have changed much regarding breakfast and there i made me adapt to that food but the real test to me came at my marine college where i learned eating bread and butter, pasta which helped me when i was in ship. My breakfast has been bread and butter for 9 months.
At my marine college its a different life and food. The food which i wanted the most has became an option for lunch and mandatory at dinner. Finally I made me to manage instead of hating which helped me live easily. I have eaten pizza burger and some don't know the name food at ship.
I have always teased my mom during my schooldays that the food is not good, its tasteless and my mom replies that when i go somewhere I'll realize the worth of her food and that time soon came when i went to my college.
